Flowers are a very important part of a wedding and reception. They compliment many aspects of the wedding including but not limited to the bride and her gorgeous gown. They also help to enhance the decorations, the rest of the bridal party, attendants’ attire and contribute generally to the style and beauty of your ceremony and reception. The decision ultimately is yours to make. There’s a lot to talk about whether to have real or silk flowers. For several reasons, this is one of the more difficult choices to make for your perfect day.
Brides choose real flowers for several reasons. Florists seem to prefer real flowers. If your ideal flowers are in season when you have your wedding, then they will most likely be cheaper because they are easily attained. If you need ideas, speak to your local florists. Real flowers offer a fragrance that may be relaxing to those in the party, a scent that many relate to romance, quiet time or even joyful times. For instance, some would include lilies, roses, lilacs or gardenias. You can also import favorite exotic flowers or your favorite flower during it’s off season but remember this will be costly.
On the other hand, some brides prefer silk flowers. Silk, first of all, used to save people money but that is not the case so much anymore. Often this depends on the your choice of flowers and time of season. Artificial flowers have many benefits such as not having to worry about wilting, and they are easier to transport. Silk flowers allow you the opportunity to make the flowers way in advance of your wedding day because they will never die! Allergies may be a problem for many and you don’t want to be sneezing or having running eyes while walking down the aisle. Silk flowers are perfect You can have your favorite flower without having to worry about any discomfort. Those in your bridal party, especially the bride, may want a memento of the wedding day and silk flowers are perfect because you will have them many days, months and years to follow.
An easy out for a bride that can’t make the choice, would be to mix the two. If a specific flower if expensive because of the time of year, choose to add a silk flower to the bouquet. This way you have your flower of choice along with fitting it into your budget. Silk flowers may last a lifetime but real flowers may have always been an ideal fantasy for your wedding day. Whether you choose real or silk flowers, you still have many choices ahead of you. As an example, you need to also consider the sizes of the bouquets, the exact flowers of choice and if you are willing to make any compromises for the sake of cost.
